Selling Unprotected Sex
In this parody, a “sex-salesman” tries to convince a woman why she should “buy” unprotected sex.

- What stood out to you most in this video?
- What are some of the risks/benefits of unprotected sex?
- What are some ways you can avoid the consequences of unprotected sex?
For this video:
- What could have prevented this girl from signing the paper for unprotected sex?
Materials needed: paper, pen/pencil
Step 1.
Split the class into five groups.
Step 2.
Have each group come up with an advertisement for protected sex. This could be done a number of ways: as a funny ad, a “tug at your heartstrings”/emotional ad, a musical ad, etc. It could also be done in a number of mediums: as a series of posters, as a skit, as a song/jingle, or a combination of all of these.
Step 3.
Give the class time to make their advertisements.
Step 4.
At the end of class, let the groups share their advertisements.
Step 5.
Debrief with your students by asking questions like:
- Why would a person choose to have protected sex?
- What was that activity like?
- Did you learn anything about protected sex?
