Sex education can bring up a lot of emotions, thoughts, and further questions for both students and teachers. The following resources are available to help you and your community.

Organizations in Los Angeles

The movement for sexual health and liberation is constantly growing, changing, and expanding. Organizations across Los Angeles are doing this work throughout. Below you will find a list of some of these organizations, whose work we believe in and who we hope you will connect with:

Sexual Violence Resources

  • The National Sexual Violence Resource Center has a directory of organizations located within their website for all U.S. states and territories. 

  • The Rape Abuse, & Incest Network’s (RAINN) National Sexual Assault Hotline can put you in contact with your local rape crisis center. You can call at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673) or chat online 24/7. 

Hotlines for Survivors of Sexual Violence

  • Love is Respect National Dating Abuse Hotline provides information and support for teens, parents, friends, and family through a variety of digital avenues. 

  • The National Domestic Violence Hotline is a 24-hour hotline available for any type of domestic abuse, including abuse within dating couples. Text message support is also available. 

LGBTQ Resources

  • The It Gets Better Project has compiled a list of over 1,100 organizations in more than 40 countries that offer support to LGBTQ+ youth. 

  • Live Out Loud is a resource for LGBTQ+ youth to connect with successful LGBTQ+ professionals.

  • The Trevor Project offers a number of hotlines and services for LGBTQ+ youth in crisis. The Trevor Lifeline hotline is available 24/7 at 1-866-488-7386. 

  • The Trans Lifeline is a 24-hour hotline staffed by transgender people for transgender people. Please call (877) 565-8860 from the U.S. and (877) 330-6366 from Canada. 

  • Live Out Loud is a resource for LGBTQ+ youth to connect with successful LGBTQ+ professionals.
