Not Everybody's Afraid

Zakk shares his experience dating someone with HIV and his ensuing emotions and questions. He reflects how through love, he released himself from the fear and stigma surrounding HIV.

Materials needed: card stock, markers, clothing pins/tape

Step 1.

Create card pairs of terms, definitions, symptoms, statistics, and Q & A of STDS/HIV/AIDS. Laminate cards if you can. See this sample of card pairs you can make:

Step 2.

When students enter the room, pin/tape random cards to your students’ back facing outward and walk around the room to find their matching pair. Students may help each other find their pair.

Step 3.

When they find their pair, they should stand in a line the front of the room and ask each other a series of questions to get to know each other or review HIV facts.
